It has been 12 years since Peggy and Allen Castro pur-chased Landmark Restaurant.
Peggy Castro said she had spent a lot of time working at restaurants.
“We knew how to work it and we knew how to handle peo-ple,” Castro said.
The restaurant, located at 2740 Martha Berry Highway, serves everything from eggs to seafood platters, and has be-come a staple in Rome dining.
Castro said many of her customers come in at the same time each day, order the same items and ask for the same waitress. “They like the food and we have a good staff,” she said.
She says her customers have been the greatest gift.
“We appreciate our continued customers. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here,” she said.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of menu items includ-ing an array of desserts, as well as Latin fare and Mediterra-nean cuisine. Landmark also has four small dining rooms for parties.
They are open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. To reserve a dining room call 706-234-1370.
