Marie Wesson and Misty Cook, owners of MGM Catering LLC, are answering the questions for today’s Small Business Snapshot.
What is the primary purpose of your business? Catering for special events.
What is the owners business background? (Marie) I am retired from Bellsouth and Misty has a background in the food industry.
Why did you start this particular business? (Misty) We enjoy participating in special events and we take pride in helping to provide a memorable occasion for our clients.
What makes your business unique? (Marie) We provide a quality catering service at an affordable price and can bring it to our customers or provide a location for them for up to 150 people.
What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession? (Marie) We really enjoy working with people and making them happy.
What has been the biggest or most interesting challenge to overcome as a small business owner? (Misty) With also being owners of Troys BBQ it is hard to get it out that we have a formal catering business that is totally separate from Troys. We cater lavish or simple weddings, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties and sit down formal dinners to name a few.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers? (Marie) Holidays are fast approaching and we do many types of catering for any occasion, such as weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, office functions (including breakfast), and family gatherings. We also offer Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for pick up (cooked or uncooked) at very affordable prices.
