Collinsville’s Lydia Coker and Cedar Bluff’s Audrie Rucker both provided their respective teams with solid complete-game performances last Friday, but the former starting pitcher re-ceived just a little bit more run support en route to the Lady Panthers’ 4-2 win in the Class 1A, Section 6 Tournament at Ft. Payne.

Coker allowed four hits, one earned run and two walks while striking out four, while Rucker surrendered five hits, four earned runs and four walls while fanning nine.

At the plate for Collinsville, Taylor Nelson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.

For the Lady Tigers,Rucker went 1-for-3 with a run scored, while Sierra Hopkins had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

As the visiting team, the Lady Panthers took a 1-0 lead on Nelson’s run in the top of the first.

Amanda Taylor’s RBI double scored Nelson in the third to make it a two-run Collinsville advantage before Hopkins’ score in the bottom of the inning cut the Cedar Bluff deficit to 2-1.

The Lady Panthers made it a 4-1 game when Heather Beairdle and Jasmine Williams rounded the bases in the fourth.

Rucker’s score off Hopkins’ fifth-inning double drew the Lady Tigers within two runs, and Rucker retired six of the next seven batters to keep Cedar Bluff in the game.

Coker accomplished the same feat, however, sending the Cedar Bluff to Saturday’s playback bracket
