The 2009 Class 4A football state champion Cherokee County Warriors (15-0) will be formally honored in a ceremony at the high school gym on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Alabama High School Athletic Association Executive Director Steve Savarese will be on hand for the festivities.

The Warriors defeated Jackson 31-27 on Friday to capture the school’s first football title.

Also on Monday, the Class 3A football state champion Piedmont Bulldogs (13-2) will hold their championship ceremony at the school gym at 9 a.m. Savarese will be at that event as well.

Piedmont defeated Cordova 35-28 in overtime on Thursday, capturing its first football state championship.
