Cherokee Electric Cooperative reminds residents that its annual meeting and election is scheduled for this Saturday, May 19, from 7:30 a.m until 1 p.m. in the National Guard Amory in Centre.

Voting will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will continue until 1 p.m. The business meeting begins at 1 p.m. Board Members in Districts Five and Six, Josephine Jennings and Franklin Ward, are up for re-election this year, but both are running unopposed.

Once again, those who vote will receive a $5 credit on their power bill.

And there will be plenty of other festivities planned as well for attendees of all ages.

For the first time this year, Cherokee Electric Cooperative employees who will be singing and playing the piano will provide entertainment. Dedric Cowser, local musician, will be singing and playing piano and the B-Team Angels will also be performing.

As in the past, Cherokee Electric Cooperative will be offering free refreshments to registered attendees including hotdogs, chips and coke
