Farmer, Anderson lead Sand Rock girls past Gaylesville

SAND ROCK – Gena Farmer and Karlie Anderson both posted double-doubles to lead Sand Rock to a 70-32 victory over Gaylesville on Thursday.

Farmer scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds along with five steals for the Lady Wildcats (6-5). Anderson posted 12 points, 17 boards and three steals in the victory over the Lady Trojans (2-6).

Carrie Robertson scored eight points and had seven rebounds. Feleisha Soignet added six points, five rebounds and four assists. Amber Henderson had six points. Paige Ashley, Emily Ozment Stephanie Cook and Nicole Soignet all contributed five points. Ashley also had five assists and Ozment also had five boards. Crimson Dooley finished with four points.

Sand Rock also defeated Gaylesville in boys action, 74-21. Stats for the boys game were unavailable. Sand Rock has now won five in a row and have a 6-2 record. Gaylesville still seeks its first win of the season.
