The victim, according to the state trooper report, was identified as Brandon Kenneth Holbrook, 24, of Piedmont, who was pronounced dead at the scene around 5:30 p.m. He apparently lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree.
According to the report, no safety equipment was being used. The accident remains under investigation.
Responding agencies included the Cherokee County Coroner's Office, Piedmont Rescue Squad, Cherokee County Sheriff's Department and Spring Garden Fire Department
