Morgan set up the Panthers’ (6-0, 5-0) first score on a 74-yard rush early in the first quarter. Junior quarterback Will Ivey took it in from a yard out, giving Spring Garden a 7-0 lead with 11:32 left in the first quarter.
Ivey ended with 81 rushing yards for the game.
Woodville (0-6, 0-5) answered the Panther touchdown at the 7:54 mark of the opening quarter on a 35-yard scoring pass from Brandon Huston to Austin Morrison. The extra point failed, keeping the score at 7-6 Spring Garden.
The Panthers added to their lead just 15 seconds later. Senior running back Forrest Livingston darted 49 yards for a touchdown. The point after gave Spring Garden a 14-6 advantage.
Livingston finished the game with 62 yards on the ground.
Senior fullback Craig Jones scored his first touchdown of the season on a 3-yard rush with 3:51 left in the first quarter. Ivey capped the first-quarter scoring on a 31-yard scramble at the 1:21 mark, giving Spring Garden a 28-6 lead.
The Panthers found the end zone twice in the second quarter. Morgan scored on a 6-yard rush and Dylan Watson added a 3-yard touchdown run to increase the Panther lead to 42-6 at halftime.
Will Penton tallied the Panthers’ final score with 22 seconds remaining in the third quarter on a 3-yard run.
Woodville found the end zone one more time with 6:38 to go in the fourth. Zach Camp dashed 60 yards for the touchdown. The 2-point conversion was successful for the final.
Logan Whorton led the Panther defense with five tackles. Josh Hale added four tackles and an interception. Hunter Crider also posted four tackles.
Spring Garden travels to Collinsville on Friday. Woodville hosts Gaylesville.
