The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently two locations, the one in Centre and another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.

The Cherokee County Public Library has on ongoing book sale. Get paperbacks for as little as a dime and hardbacks for as little as 50 cents or $1. The library is open today from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Call the library at 256-927-5838 for further information.

Cherokee County Celebrate Recovery offers support groups for chemical dependency, co-dependency, grief, divorce and loved ones of chemical dependency, and much more. Child care available. Call 393-2861 for more information.

The Blackout Cancer Event will be held in the Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center Education building beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature dinner, a fashion show, music and silent auction.

TheatreCentre presents Elvis Presley Impersonator Matt Shaw in the Gadsden State Community College-Cherokee Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
