The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently two locations, the one in Centre and another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.

Spring Creek Fire Department will have a Door to Door Donation Drive to update equipment during the month of July. Firefighters will wear ID Badge and will drive the fire truck for this campaign. All donations are tax deductible.

Leesburg Day 2012 will be held Sept. 8 with the opening ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. and the crowning of Miss Leesburg at 9:30 a.m. Leesburg’s Got Talent begins at 10 a.m. For more information, call 256-526-8890. Vendor deadline is today, July 27.

The Cherokee County Public Library has on ongoing book sale. Get paperbacks for as little as a dime and hardbacks for as little as 50 cents or $1. The library is open today from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.. Call the library at 256-927-5838 for further information.

Cherokee County Celebrate Recovery offers support groups for chemical dependency, co-dependency, grief, divorce and loved ones of chemical dependency, and much more. Child care available. Call 393-2861 for more information.
