Senior Friday begins each week at 10 a.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library. Participants can enjoy games, movies and conversation. If that is your cup of tea, you are welcome to come join your friends at the library!

Centre Middle School will have its annual Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 9. All veterans are invited to attend.

Sand Rock School would like to invite everyone to take part in our

Veterans program “Honoring All Who Served” at 9 a.m. in the new school gym. The Town of Sand Rock invites veterans and their families to a

reception in the community banquet room of the gym after the program.

Cherokee County Celebrate Recovery offers support groups for chemical dependency, co-dependency, grief, divorce and loved ones of chemical dependency, and much more. Child care available. Call 393-2861 for more information.

In high school football action, the AHSAA State Playoffs begin their first round. In Class 1A, R.A, R.A. Hubbard (6-4) plays at Collinsville (8-2) beginning at 7 p.m.; Spring Garden (8-2) plays at Shoals Christian (6-4), Florence, beginning at 7 p.m. and. Phillips-Bear Creek (5-5) plays at Cedar Bluff (9-0), beginning at 7 p.m.; In Class 2A, Sand Rock (5-5) plays at Tanner (9-0) beginning at 7 p.m. and in Class 3A J.B. Pennington (4-6) plays at Piedmont (10-0) beginning at 7 p.m.
