The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently three locations, the one in Centre, another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff and another in Cedar Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.

Senior Friday begins each week at 10 a.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library. Participants can enjoy games, movies and conversation. If that is your cup of tea, you are welcome to come join your friends at the library!

The Second Annual Student Art Show will continue through Oct. 20 at the Cherokee Historical Museum in Centre.

Cherokee County Celebrate Recovery offers support groups for chemical dependency, co-dependency, grief, divorce and loved ones of chemical dependency, and much more. Child care available. Call 393-2861 for more information.

In high school football action, Donoho plays at Cedar Bluff beginning at 7 p.m., Cherokee County plays at at Anniston beginning at 7 p.m., Gaylesville plays at Woodville beginning at 7 p.m., Westbrook Christian plays at Sand Rock beginning 7 p.m., Spring Garden plays at Collinsville beginning at 7 p.m. and Piedmont plays at Susan Moore beginning at 7 p.m.
