The Annual 411 Yard Sale is scheduled. The Sale begins Wednesday, Oct. 3, and continues through Saturday, the 6th. Hundreds of vendors will line the route from Leeds, Ala. to the Knoxville, Tennessee, area. Cherokeans Carolyn Turner and Ray Tinsley were the first promoters of the big sale — which began in 2003.

The Cherokee County Public Library’s Quilting with Rebecca Meadows will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information, please call 256-927-5838.

Children’s Story Time, featuring fun with stories, songs, crafts and more will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library.

Celebrate Recovery Program of Piedmont drug rehabilitation program meets each Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at New Beginning Church at 401 Anniston Ave. Dinner is available and dessert if furnished.

In high school volleyball action, Sand Rock plays at Southside beginning at 4 p.m., Cherokee County plays at at Jacksonville beginning at 5 p.m.; Collinsville, Faith Christian at Spring Garden beginning at 5 p.m., Gaylesville at Jacksonville Christian beginning at 5 p.m. and Cedar Bluff, Talladega at Donoho, TBD.
