Visit the beautiful Rock Village, home of some of the best hiking and rock climbing throughout the world. Enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery. Go to the intersection of U.S. Highway 411 and Highway 68 in Leesburg, turn right, turn left on Cherokee County 36, to the intersection of County Road 36 and County Road 70, turn left and follow the signs.

Visit the historic Cornwall Furnace on Cherokee County Road 92 in Cedar Bluff.

Cedar Bluff Town Hall will be closed in observance of the New Year. Tuesday’s Garbage Route will run Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.

Alabama State Parks will host a First Day Hike which will leave from the country store at DeSoto State Park at 10 a.m. For more information call Brittney Hughes at 256-601-7593.

“Alabama’s Finest 2012-Crafts” will be on display through Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the Museum of Art in Gadsden. There is no admission charge.
