The Cedar Bluff Liberty Day Celebration will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. in Cedar Bluff Town Park. The day’s event will feature live entertainment, food and refreshment vendors and will conclude with a fireworks’ finale.

The Cherokee County Public Library has on ongoing book sale. Get paperbacks for as little as a dime and hardbacks for as little as 50 cents or $1. The library is open today from 8 a.m. until noon. Call the library at 256-927-5838 for further information.

National Park Ranger Miranda Brown will present a program on rescues and safety at Little River Canyon National Preserve. The program will be at 8 p.m. at the campfire ring in the campground at DeSoto State Park. The program includes some of the stories of rescues and accidents at Little River Canyon, and how they can be avoided. Park Ranger Miranda Brown is an EMT with the park. Park Ranger Larry Beane said that “People are afraid of snakes and bears, but these are not the things that they need to fear the most”. Families are encouraged to join us for this program. Lawn chairs are recommended, some seating is available at the campfire ring. For more information call the park office at (256)845-9605. Emmanuel Baptist Church on Highway 35 in Gaylesville will host a singing featuring the Partains at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call 706-331-5219.

The Centre First Baptist Church contemporary worship service, “Impact” begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Edge, a contemporary worship service that welcomes each person as he or she is and challenges us all to grow together in our faith in Jesus Christ, meets at 8:45 a.m. at Centre First United Methodist Church.

Visit the historic Cornwall Furnace on Cherokee County Road 92 in Cedar Bluff.

Visit the beautiful Rock Village, home of some of the best hiking and rock climbing throughout the world. Enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery. Go to the intersection of U.S. Highway 411 and Highway 68 in Leesburg, turn right, turn left on Cherokee County 36, to the intersection of County Road 36 and County Road 70, turn left and follow the signs.
