Mr. Archie Atheal Duncan, 91 of Sand Rock, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Cherokee Medical Center. Mr. Duncan was a native of Cherokee County. He was a Veteran of World War II and a prisoner of war. He was a retired foreman at the Gadsden Army Depot, was a retired farmer and was a member of Sand Rock Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, January 18, 2013 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Hosey officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Sand Rock Cemetery Fund or the family will accept flowers. Survivors include wife, Betty Ruth Robertson Duncan; son, Ronnie (Shann) Duncan of Fort Payne; daughter, Pat (Jack) Hood of Sand Rock; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Duncan and Fletcher Duncan and sister, Tressie Tate.

Mr. Duncan was the son of the late Joe Lee and Josephine Peace Duncan.
