Mrs. Mary Claudette Hale Langston, 75, of Cave Spring, passed away Wednesday evening, January 30, 2013, in a Rome nursing care facility following an extended illness. Mrs. Langston was born in Newnan, Georgia. She was married to Robert G. Langston December 30, 1956, and was preceded in death by him May 3, 2008. Mrs. Langston had a degree from Shorter College and her master’s degree in Elementary Education from Berry College and had taught at the Cave Spring Elementary School for a number of years prior to her retirement. Prior to ill health, Mrs. Langston was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cave Spring.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Diane Langston of Cave Spring, sisters, Mrs. JoAnn Armitage of Cave Spring, Mrs. Louise Johnson and her husband Dr. James Johnson of Gainesville, Florida and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Langston will be held Saturday afternoon, February 2, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Cave Spring with Dr. John Connell officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Cave Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Friday evening, February 1, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org.

Mrs. Langston was the daughter of the late Walter B. Hale and the late Ruby Bowles Hale.
