Cherokee County Lady Warriors take a moment to show who is number one following their 42-38 win Tuesday over the Glencoe Yellow Jackets in the tournament championship. When all 28 games were done, two champions were crowned, and perhaps it’s appropriate one was from the Cherokee County area.
The Cherokee County Lady Warriors went 3-0 in the Cherokee County Basketball Invitational and captured their first tournament title under fourth-year head coach Travis Barnes. The Lady Warriors defeated Class 3A, No. 2 Glencoe 42-38 on Tuesday evening in the championship game.
“It’s a great feeling to be the first to win an invitational in this arena,” Barnes said following the victory.
In the boys tournament championship on Tuesday night, the Chattooga, Ga. Indians defeated Piedmont 89-67.
