Following the April 27 devastating storms which hit the area, Cherokee County Department of Human Resources is teaming up with some 48 agencies to provide the first of its kind monetary assistance to those who suffered losses. The center will be set up at Fairview Methodist Church 230 County Road 26 in Centre.

A special called meeting of the Cherokee County Commission will be held at 4 p.m. to provide the Army Corps of Engineers with the authority to gain right of way entry for storm cleanup in Cherokee county and to approve the Army Corps of Engineers to use police powers, if necessary, to gain right of way entry. The meeting will be held in the Cherokee County Administrative Center, 260 Cedar Bluff Road in Centre.
Shepherd’s Fold Day Care (at the ROC) will hold graduation exercises beginning at 6 p.m. in the gym.
