The SO-COOL (School’s Out-Camp Of Organized Learning) Summer Youth Program, sponsored by Centre Rotary Club and the Cherokee County Alcoholism/Substance Abuse Council continues at the National Guard Armory from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pine Grove Baptist Church will hold Camp Piney Children’s Summer Camp June 27 through July 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All kids must pre-register. For information, call Joan Pollard at 256-927-3214.

The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently two locations, the one in Centre and another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.

Kiwanis of Cherokee County meets at noon in the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce office. Lunch is available.

The Cherokee County Park Board meets at 1 p.m. in the new office, at 104-B Northwood Drive in Centre, the same building where John Coggin’s law office is located. Meetings are open to the public.
