As in the past, this year’s festival will feature something for everyone, including children’s activities, arts, crafts, food and much more.
Setup for the festival will begin at 7 a.m. The 5K, 10K Run, sponsored by the Cherokee County Family Resource Center, will begin at 8 a.m. and a two-mile health walk has been added as part of this year’s event.
The Kids’ Fun Run, always a popular event, will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the Fall Festival Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the day, including a ventriloquist, a clown, line dancers and a local group, Ronnie Kisor and Friends. Inflatables will be set up for children on the old Centre Middle School campus.
Fall Festival’s Theme for 2011 is Support Our Troops, with the Alabama National Guard serving as Grand Marshal. Other parade participants will include antique cars and tractors, horses and more.
“It’s coming together,” said Centre City Clerk Mary Lee Tucker. “So far we have had around 100 people call to seek spots (booths).”
The City of Centre urges all citizens to pray for good weather and to come out to the Fall Festival this Saturday.
