Madison Millsaps provided the offense for the Lady Warriors (23-4). She belted a double to score Claire Chesnut and Audra Bradley for the only two runs of the game. Chesnut reached base after being hit by a pitch. Bradley followed with a single.
Cherokee County takes on Area 10 rival Cleburne County on Wednesday.
Cedar Bluff 13, Jacksonville Christian 0 (5 innings)
JACKSONVILLE – Katie McGinnis went 4 for 4, scored four runs and drove in another to lead the Cedar Bluff softball team to a 13-0 victory over Jacksonville Christian in five innings Tuesday.
Paige Bryant was 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Lady Tigers (12-11). Kaitlyn Kilgro went 2 for 3 with a RBI. Suzie Quarles was 1 for 3 with two RBIs and scored three runs.
Kilgro also picked up the win in the circle, her 12th victory of the season. She tossed four innings and gave up three hits with two strikeouts.
Abby Storey pitched a perfect fifth inning to finish out the game.
Cedar Bluff plays Sand Rock on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Cherokee County Softball Tournament at Sand Rock.
Golf
Spring Garden defeats Cherokee County
CENTRE – Dalton Kerr carded a 43 to lead the Spring Garden golf team to a 176-184 victory over Cherokee County at Cherokee County Country Club on Tuesday.
Logan Whorton and Dustin Formby both shot 44 for the Panthers. Jay Prater finished at 45.
Trent Edwards led the Warriors with a low-score of 42.
Spring Garden’s next match is the Class 1A-2A Sectionals at Silver Lakes Tuesday.
