The Jacksonville State University Small Business Development Center, the SBA and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will offer one-on-one counseling for prospective and existing small business owners at no charge from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Chamber office. It is necessary that you make an appointment. For more information, or your appoinment, please call (256)927-9455. This is not a seminar.

The Cherokee County Public Library’s Wee Readers program will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The Reading Around Book Club meets the first Tuesday of each month from noon until 1 p.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library. For more information please call 256-927-5838.

Looking for a good chess opponent? The Cherokee County Chess Club meets at the Cherokee County Public Library from 3: 30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The Spirit of Cherokee, Inc. is bringing back the “The Taste of Cherokee” this Tuesday, May 1, at 6 p.m., at the ROC. The event funds the Avenue of Flags. The Avenue of Flags is the portion of Hwy 411 between Centre and Leesburg.
