Spring Garden’s Will Penton was also chosen as an alternate for the team after his defensive performance at third base.
Players from Cherokee, DeKalb, Etowah, Calhoun and Talladega counties played in Tuesday’s second round, with only 18 players selected for the third round.
Morgan had two outfield assists, a throw to third from right and a throw to third from left. He also went 1 for 2 at the plate with a RBI-double and a pair of walks. On the mound, Morgan threw two scoreless innings and struck out four.
Penton had a sacrifice fly and a hit.
The third round of the East-West All-Star series will be played Friday at Springville High School.
