Hall of Fame Class of 2012 inductees Ronald Rooks, Harry Tucker and Lance Mackey will be the guests of honor at the sponsor/media luncheon prior to the tournament. The luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Floyd Urgent Care and Primary Care of Centre has already stepped into the signature sponsor role for the event. The proceeds from the tournament will allow the Historical Museum to display, exhibit and maintain memorabilia that has been donated or is on loan to the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame.
A post-tournament awards ceremony will distribute over $1,000 in prize money, as well as gifts for closest to the pin on every par-3 hole. Additionally, a long drive contest will be held for men, women, senior men and junior men.
Honorary chairpersons for the tournament include Bobby Joe Johnson (HOF ’05), Dana Austin (HOF ’05) and Scott Hays (Principal of Gaylesville High School).

Cody Adams drained six treys to lead Leesburg Church of God to a 52-44 victory over Union Grove United Methodist in the Rimroccer Church League basketball championship game last week.
Adams finished with 20 points. Chris Burns chipped in 18 for Leesburg. Andrew Morris was the only Methodist player in double figures with 19 points. Leesburg led at the half 34-24.
Leesburg also captured the regular season sportsmanship award and overall title with a 7-1 record. Centre First Methodist’s Nick Wheeler led the league in scoring average (26.8 points per game) while Morris (21.9 points) captured the point scoring title. Burns (28 points) topped Morris (26 points) and Wheeler (24 points) to pick up the 3-point shooting crown.

Cedar Bluff will be joining Sand Rock for a spring football jamboree at West End High School on Thursday at 6 p.m. Cedar Bluff was originally scheduled to play Douglas at Cherokee County High School on Friday.

A soccer clinic is scheduled for Saturday at the Ed Yarbrough soccer field just off Alabama Highway 9 South. There will be four sessions, with the first class beginning at 10 a.m. for the 5-and-under age group.
This clinic is free under sponsorship of the Centre Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with WLSA to youth ages 4-11.
