ALBERTVILLE – Cedar Bluff’s Tyric Scales netted 23 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Tigers past Gaylesville 76-36 in the Class 1A, Area 12 tournament Tuesday night.

Marcus Reese added 21 points for the Tigers (14-12).

Cain Higgins led the Trojans with 11 points.

Cedar Bluff advances to face No. 9 Collinsville on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the tournament semifinals.

Gaston 57, Spring Garden 43 – In the tournament opener on Tuesday, Jared Bogle scored 17 points, pulled down five rebounds and had three steals as Gaston defeated Spring Garden.

Demont Buice added 16 points and Collin Jarbo had 12 points, three steals and six assists for the Bulldogs (8-13).

Corey Anderson scored 14 points and Kaleb Morris 10 to lead Spring Garden (2-25).

Gaston takes on top-seeded Asbury on Friday at 7 p.m. in the tournament semifinals on Friday.
