The Farmer’s Market is open every Thursday from 7 a.m. 10:30 a.m. at the Centre National Guard Armory Building parking lot on Armory Road in Centre. Items available for sale include fresh vegetables, local honey, canned homemade soup, pickled okra, pickles, organic eggs and much more.

The SO-COOL (School’s Out-Camp of Organized Learning), sponsored by the Centre Rotary Club and Cherokee County Alcoholism/Substance Abuse Council is now taking place Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the National Guard Armory in Centre through July 13.

The Cherokee County Public Library, 310 Mary St., Centre, Ala. holds an art class from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for children ages 8-14 with Instructor Cloud Farrow. Children must provide their own 8 x 10 sketch pad and charcoal pencils. Call the library at 256-927-5838 for further information.
