GERALDINE — Lauren Bell scored 16 points and had eight assists as Sand Rock topped Westbrook in the semifinals of the Class 2A, Area 12 girls basketball tournament Thursday, 54-46.

Lana Bell added 10 points and Gena Farmer had nine points and five rebounds for the Lady Wildcats (14-15).

Reilly Johnson led Westbrook (7-14) with 17 points. Deja Woods and Mary Katherine Cantanzaro had 10 points each.

In other Area 12 semifinal action on Thursday, top-seeded Geraldine defeated West End 62-23. Geraldine advances to face Sand Rock on Monday at 6 p.m.

Class 3A, Area 10

GLENCOE – The Piedmont Lady Bulldogs advanced to the Class 3A, Area 10 title game with a 59-41 win over White Plains Thursday night in Glencoe.

Raven Prater led the charge for the Lady Bulldogs (19-10). She scored a game-high 25 points.

Jeleca Johnson added 15 points and 13 boards. Aniesha Alexander finished with 12 points.

Laura Roberts led White Plains (10-18) with 19 points. Kaci Davidson finished with 12 points.

The Lady Bulldogs will face top-seeded Glencoe (25-4) in the area championship on Saturday at 7 p.m. Glencoe defeated Pleasant Valley 66-49 in other area tournament semifinal action on Thursday.

Class 4A, Area 12

HOKES BLUFF – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors’ season came to an end Thursday night at the hands of Alexandria in the Class 4A, Area 12 tournament on Thursday, 53-46.

Rena Curry led the Valley Cubs (16-8) with 18 points, while Monica Williams added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Taylor Warren had 13 points and nine rebounds.

Deidra Davis scored 17 and Kaitlyn Griffith added 12 for Cherokee County (16-12).

Hokes Bluff will take on Alexandria at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Area 12 championship. Hokes Bluff defeated Jacksonville 41-37 in other tournament semifinal action on Thursday.
