The SO-COOL (School’s Out-Camp of Organized Learning), sponsored by the Centre Rotary Club and Cherokee County Alcoholism/Substance Abuse Council is now taking place Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the National Guard Armory in Centre through July 13.

The Coosa Valley Resource Conservation and Development Council, the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the USDA-Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) will present a program concerning the Farm Bill and the Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP), along with other programs and services they provide. The meeting will be held Thursday, June 21, at 6 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church at 1455 County Road 241 in Centre. The program will address concerns with cropland including vegetables production, micri-irrigation/plasticulture, hoop houses, etc; pastureland-animals grazing systems; forest health and wildlife; water quality and other topics.
