The SO-COOL (School’s Out-Camp of Organized Learning), sponsored by the Centre Rotary Club and Cherokee County Alcoholism/Substance Abuse Council is now taking place Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the National Guard Armory in Centre through July 13.

The Cherokee County Public Library invites everyone to participate in the library's summer reading programs, “Dream Big.” All programs are from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day. The Friday, June 22 program will be a Taekwondo and Self Defense Demonstration Class.

Centre First Baptist Church, 373 East Main St. in Centre, is having Space Quest Vacation Bible School June 18-22 from 9 a.m. until noon for ages Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. The Hubert Cox Memorial Singing School will be held June 18-22 beginning at 6:30 p.m. each evening at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Dennis George will be the instructor. All age groups are welcome. There is no charge to participate.
