The SO-COOL (School’s Out-Camp of Organized Learning), sponsored by the Centre Rotary Club and Cherokee County Alcoholism/Substance Abuse Council is now taking place Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the National Guard Armory in Centre through July 13.

The Cherokee County Public Library has on ongoing book sale. Get paperbacks for as little as a dime and hardbacks for as little as 50 cents or $1. The library is open today from 8 a.m. until noon. Call the library at 256-927-5838 for further information.

The Jacksonville State University Small Business Development Center, the SBA, and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will offer one-on-one counseling for prospective and existing small business owners at no charge on the first Tuesday of each month at the Chamber Office. It is necessary that you make an appointment. For more information, or your appointment, please call 256-927-8455.

Congressman Mike Rogers’ Mobile Office will be at Cedar Bluff Town Hall on Spring Street in Cedar Bluff from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Citizens are invited to come and speak with members of his staff about their concerns on some of today’s issues.

Pruett’s Fish Camp on Cherokee County Road 22 will hold its annual Fourth of July Fireworks show over Weiss Lake beginning at 9 p.m. There will be no carnival or an appearance featuring Thomas The Train as originally announced.
