Mrs. Glenda Mae Gettrost, 51 of Centre, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Cherokee Health & Rehab. Mrs. Gettrost was a native of Cherokee County, and was a member of Alexis Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herbert Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Howell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 until 1 pm Tuesday, July 31, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alexis Baptist Church. Perry Funeral Home Directing. www.perryfuneral.net.

Survivors include her husband, Martin Gettrost, son, Karl Gettrost, Augusta, Georgia, daughters, Christy (Jeremy) Doeg, Centre, Shannon (Keith) Brewer, Centre, Christina Gettrost, Rome, brother, Jimmy McKnight, Calhoun, sisters, Janice (Wayne) Wright, Summerville, Ann (Jerry) Pate, Centre, Debra Robinson, Centre, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gettrost was the daughter of the late Wendal Hugh Allen and Irene A. Knight McKnight.
