He is survived by his grandmother, Ivelene Derrick, of Fyffe, parents, Harvey and Jane Derrick, Sand Rock, sister, Lynn (Joel) Shannon Shannon, Suwanee, Georgia, sister Anna Derrick, and her partner, Stephen Jones, of Oakland, CA; his niece and nephew, Elizabeth (John)Shannon, Suwanee, Georgia and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
