Volleyball Roundup: Cedar Bluff sweeps Gaston, Sand Rock falls at West End

Audrianna Hargitt posted 13 kills, five digs, three blocks and two aces while Hannah Leach contributed 11 kills, three digs, three assists and an ace to lead the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers to a 25-15, 25-20 volleyball win Thursday at Gaston.

Paige Bryant had 17 digs and an assist for the Lady Tigers (4-6). Raveen McElrath came away with five digs and three assists. Jasmine Adams had eight assists, a dig and a block.

Abby Storey posted three kills, three digs, an assist and an ace. Brook Wood had two kills, two digs, a block and an ace. Marigrace Wilson finished with two kills, two assists, a dig and a block.

Cedar Bluff hosts Gaston and Donoho on Monday beginning at 5 p.m.



Sand Rock suffers first loss

WALNUT GROVE - Amber Ashley posted 22 kills and Madison Smith added 13 kills, but they weren't enough to lead the Class 2A, No. 7 Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a volleyball victory at West End. Sand Rock suffered its first loss of the season in four games, 25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 21-25.

Maggie Lyn Lumsden, Kelsey Hayes, and Hannah Oliver all had seven kills each for the Lady Wildcats (9-1, 1-1 Class 2A, Area 13).

Sand Rock travels to Sardis for a tournament on Saturday.
