ASHVILLE – Class 2A, No. 7 Sand Rock improved to 15-1 on the volleyball season Monday with a pair of wins at Ashville.

The Lady Wildcats defeated host Ashville 25-7, 25-19, then claimed a 25-9, 25-13 victory over Cleveland in the nightcap.

Madison Smith led the charge with 14 kills. Amber Ashley added 10 kills and six aces. Kelsey Hayes contributed 15 digs, nine kills and five aces. Hannah Oliver had 14 digs and Ashley Norris finished with 34 assists.

Sand Rock travels to Sylvania for a tri-match with Geraldine on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.

Cedar Bluff splits with Gaston, Donoho

CEDAR BLUFF – Cedar Bluff split a pair of home volleyball matches Monday. The Lady Tigers defeated Gaston 25-19, 25-14 before falling to top-ranked Donoho 13-25, 17-25 in the nightcap.

Against Gaston, Audrianna Hargitt led the way for Cedar Bluff (5-7). She posted 10 kills, eight digs, three aces and an assist. Hannah Leach also had 10 kills to go along with three digs and an ace. Abby Storey contributed five kills, five digs and three aces. Raveen McElrath finished with 14 assists, three kills and three digs.

In the loss to Donoho, Hargitt had six kills and four digs. Leach also came away with six kills and a pair of digs.

Cedar Bluff travels to Gaylesville on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.

Gaylesville defeats Pepperell, Ga.

CHATTOOGA, Ga. – Alex Montgomery posted five kills, 11 assists, three aces and a dig to lead the Gaylesville Lady Trojans to a 25-14, 25-13 volleyball win over Pepperell, Ga., on Monday.

Taylor Tomlin added three kills and a dig. Hannah Van Pelt contributed five aces and four digs. Ashley Parris had four aces and a dig. Sydney Hammett came away with a pair of aces. Lauren Hammett had two digs and Angie Calvert finished with two kills.

Gaylesville hosts Cedar Bluff and Westbrook Christian on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.

Collinsville sweeps J.B. Pennington, Asbury

ALBERTVILLE – Class 1A, No. 7 Collinsville posted a pair of road volleyball wins Monday at Asbury. The Lady Panthers (9-4) defeated J.B. Pennington 26-24, 25-17 then claimed a 25-8, 25-18 decision against Asbury.

In the win over J.B. Pennington, Brittney Tidmore was 9 of 10 on serve with three aces and 10 assists. Sydney Jones was also 9 of 10 on serve with five aces. Christy Cox came away with eight kills and nine digs.

Against Asbury, Tidmore was 21 of 21 on serve with 12 assists and nine aces. Cox contributed seven kills, six digs and three blocks. Kiana Ford finished with seven kills and three blocks.

Collinsville hosts Fort Payne on Tuesday.
