All retirees of the Cherokee County Educational Association are invited to attend the first monthly meeting of the 2012-2013 school year Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m., in the private dining room of Lanny’s Restaurant in Centre. Guest speaker will be Cherokee County’s Uniserve director, Lanny Lancaster, who will speak on new laws in education. In the event Lanny doesn’t cover a subject matter you are concerned with, there will be a brief question and answer time. A number of retirees joined the “retirees” rank this year. Sometimes they don’t realize that CCEA has monthly meetings to bring retirees up to date with pertinent information. After a short business meeting by President Billy Wayne Tillery, members are invited to stay for a “Dutch-treat” lunch and socialize with other retirees. This would be a good time to bring your spouse with you. For additional information, call 256-526-8583.
Enjoy a day of picnicing under the pavillion while children enjoy the rides in Centre City Park on Park Street in Centre.
