Mr. Gene Ledbetter, 83 of Gaylesville, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ledbetter was a native of Dekalb County, and was a member of Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church. He was a retired building contractor and was owner of Weiss Lake Memorial Garden.

Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Cosby officiating. Burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church Building Fund. Perry Funeral Home directing. www.perryfuneral.net.

Survivors include his wife, Katie M. Thomas Ledbetter; daughters, Jill (Terry) Lawson of Gaylesville and Cindy (Herb) Skelton of Trion, GA; brother, Joe Ledbetter of Rome, Geo.; sisters, Evelyn Hughes and Ethel Pledger, both of Summerville, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ledbetter was the son of the late James David and Myrtle Mariah Rose Ledbetter.
