Sand Rock goes 2-1 at Geraldine volleyball tournament

GERALDINE - Madison Smith posted 17 kills, 31 digs and seven blocks to lead Class 2A, No. 6 Sand Rock to a 2-1 record in the Geraldine volleyball tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Wildcats (21-4) lost to New Hope 25-21, 25-23, but rebounded to defeat host Geraldine 25-18, 21-25, 15-9 and Fyffe 25-15, 25-18.

Amber Ashley added 27 kills. Hannah Oliver had 26 digs. Ashley Norris finished with 50 assists.

Sand Rock hosts Cherokee County on Monday.
