Mrs. Eva Jewel Comer, 89 of Gaylesville, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Oakview Nursing Home in Summerville. Mrs. Comer was a native of Cherokee County, and was a member of Gaylesville First Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Dempsey and Rev. Larry Elliott officiating. Burial followed in Hardeman Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Perry Funeral Home drecting. www.perryfuneral.net.

Survivors include sons, Troy Comer of Charlotte, North Carolina, Greg (Terree) Comer of Albertville, Grant (Joyce) Comer of Centre, daughters, Kay Gouger, Centre, Carol (Malcolm) Mitchell, Menlo, sister, Sue Fuller, Mobile, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, special caregiver, Alice Knight, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Comer was preceded in death by her husband, William Samuel Comer, brother, James Sitton, sisters, Louise Morgan, Irene Early, Cora Early, Jeffie Rogers, Haynie Bain and Nell Sitton.

Mrs. Comer was the daughter of the late Jesse Charles and Lunie Earwood Sitton.
