MR. WALTER "FIREBALL" ROBERTS

Mr. Walter “Fireball” Roberts, 72 of Gaylesville, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Roberts was a native of Cherokee County, a retired electrician from GE in Rome, and was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chesterfield Baptist Church or Nettie King Brown Clearinghouse Inc., P.O. Box 53, Centre. Survivors include son, Kerry Lee (Johanna) Roberts of Centre, daughters, Sonya A. (Tony) Ward of Pollards Bend, Melonie R. (Charles) Garrett of Pollards Bend, brother, J.L. (Peggy) Roberts; sisters, Louise Shaw, Glenda (Wesley) Battles and Mittie Knight; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews, and special friend and caregiver, Sara Jo Crisler.

Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffani Katelin Ward.

Mr. Roberts was the son of the late V.L. and Ida Belle Branson Roberts.
