McGatha, Shaver said, attempted to elude officers on foot but was captured, and methamphetamine was discovered in his possession. Additional methamphetamine, a boxed clandestine methamphetamine lab, and a stolen four wheeler were also discovered at the residence. McGatha was charged with first degree manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and second degree receiving stolen property.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated this arrest would not have been possible without the help and assistance of several concerned citizens in the Forney community. He and Cherokee County Narcotics Unit Commander Chas Clifton wish to thank those who provided the information concerning these crimes.
