Mr. Ball was born in Floyd County. He was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church. Mr. Ball was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was a heavy equipment operator. He retired from Georgia Kraft in May of 1996 after 41 years of service.
Funeral services for Mr. Ball will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 2, 2012, at 2:00 pm at the Mountain Home Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, Ocotber 1, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Mr. Ball will lie in state at the church Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Mountain Home Baptist Church Youth, 165 Mountain Home Loop Road, Cedartown, Ga., 30125. John House’s Cave Spring Chapel.
Mr. Ball is survived by his children, Phillip and Lynn Ball of Silver Creek, Diane and Brent Durrett of Rome, Ted and Gretchen Ball of Atlanta, Sarah McCain and James Cato of Rome, and Ben and Heather McCain of Centre, and by his brother, David C. and Charlotte Ball of Rome, ine grandchildren, and a special grand-daughter, Taeleigh Jenkins, two great-grandchildren, two nephews and special family friends Jimmy and Joan Hitchcock.
Mr. Ball was the son of the late Arthur C. and Annie Ruth Pledger Ball.
