MR. KEVIN MACBAY

Mr. Kevin MacBay, USAF, disabled Vietnam Veteran, artist, illustrator, inventor, 61, of Tehachapi, California, formerly of Centre, passed away September 28, 2012 at his daughter’s residence after an extended illness.

Kevin was born in Kearny, New Jersey, After graduating Kearny High School in Kearny, New Jersey in 1969, Kevin joined the United States Air Force as an illustrator on November 27, 1969. After touring in Vietnam at Da Nang, and Tahkli, Thailand, he was honorably discharged as a sergeant on March 17, 1973, at Lowry AFB, Colorado. Kevin attended college in California and spent 12 years in engineering as a graphic illustrator and six years as a journeyman sign painter for Los Angeles County Health Services Division. He came to Cherokee County, Alabama in 1989 and maintained his self-employment as a graphic artist until his death. He was of the Catholic faith and took Sebastian as his baptismal name.

Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca MacBay, of Tehachapi, California; four stepdaughters, Kristy Estrada and Jennifer Barnes-Caporusso, both of Lancaster, California, Courtney Ramirez of Palmdale, California, and Tracy Peterson of Colorado; brother, Brian D. MacBay of Moncks Corner, S.C.; sister, Sharon T. Miller of Cedar Bluff, four grandchildren, four nephews, a niece, aunts, and many cousins.

He was predeceased in death by his parents and a brother, Joseph MacBay.

Mr. MacBay was the son of the late Joseph D. and Helen McConville MacBay.
