Funeral services will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Rainey and Rev. Shane Swafford officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Johnny L. Wells; sons, Glenn Franklin (Pat) Chatman of Centre, Timothy Lee (Denise) Chatman of Reno, NV, Danny Ray (Lisa) Chatman of Plantersville and James Edward Chatman of Centre; daughter, Judy Kathleen (Jimmy) Chatman McKinney of Centre; brother, John David Hunter of Henager; sisters, Wanda Jean Bryant of Birmingham and Joan Wydean Hulgan of Ft. Payne; special sister and caregiver, Peggy Sue Hunter Bradley; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by a husband, James Kyril Chatman; daughter, Alice Elaine Chatman Cole; brother, J.W. Hunter; sisters, Katherine Rickett, Audrey Mae McKelvey, Mildred (Jo) Jennings and Martha Lois Miller.
Mrs. Wells was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Vera Lee Weeks Hunter.
