Cedar Bluff up a spot in latest volleyball rankings

The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers (22-15) moved up a spot in the latest al.com (formerly Birmingham News) volleyball rankings, released on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers come in at No. 8 in Class 1A after debuting in the poll at No. 9 last week. Cedar Bluff plays a tri-match with Talladega at second-ranked Donoho (33-9) on Thursday.

One other Class 1A, Area 13 team is ranked in the poll, while one other received consideration.

Collinsville (19-7) held steady at No. 5 in this week’s poll. The Lady Panthers travel to Spring Garden (20-16) for a tri-match with Faith Christian on Thursday.

Speaking of Spring Garden, the Lady Panthers received consideration for this week’s Class 1A rankings.

In Class 2A, the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats (27-5) held their No. 6 ranking in the latest poll. The Lady Wildcats travel to Gadsden to take on Class 5A, No. 9 Southside (28-13) on Thursday.

In Class 3A, the Piedmont Lady Bulldogs (24-9) received consideration for this week’s poll. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to host Wellborn on Tuesday.
