SPRING GARDEN - The Spring Garden Lady Panthers clinched the second seed in the upcoming Class 1A, Area 13 volleyball tournament following a four-game victory over fifth-ranked Collinsville on Thursday. Spring Garden dropped the first game 22-25, but rebounded to win the next three 25-12, 25-9 and 25-11.

"We played well," Lady Panther coach Ben Carroll said. "We've worked hard at practice the past two or three days. We knew we needed a strong showing against them, because that's who we've got in the first round of the area tournament. We spread the ball around a lot, and everything seemed to work well."

In the win over Collinsville, Dallas Smith posted 12 kills, two aces and two blocks. Haley Motes added eight kills and 13 digs. Madison Sides contributed nine kills, four aces and three digs.

Jacqueline Haney had nine digs, five assists and five aces. Darby Bryant came away with 20 assists, nine digs and five kills. Emory Reedy finished with six digs and five kills.

Against Faith Christian, Motes tallied four kills and three aces. Smith added three kills. Reedy posted seven digs. Haney had four aces and Bryant finished with eight assists.
