Sand Rock volleyball team splits with Southside, Arab

GADSDEN - Class 2A, No. 6 Sand Rock split a pair of volleyball matches in Gadsden on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Class 5A, No. 9 Southside 15-25, 25-11, 15-5 but fell to Arab 25-20, 22-25, 12-15.

Amber Ashley led the Lady Wildcats (28-6) with 17 kills and five blocks. Madison Smith added 12 kills and five aces. Kelsey Hayes contributed 26 digs. Ashley Norris had 31 assists. Courtney Rowe finished with five aces.

Sand Rock travels to Spring Garden for a tri-match with Hokes Bluff on Tuesday.
