Sand Rock volleyball team splits on Senior Night

SAND ROCK – Class 2A, No. 6 Sand Rock split a pair of volleyball matches on Senior Night Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Westminster Christian 25-6, 25-10, but fell to Class 5A Albertville 20-25, 25-21, 10-15.

Madison Smith led the way for Sand Rock (31-10) with 22 kills. Senior Amber Ashley added 19 kills. Senior Hannah Oliver posted 20 digs. Senior Kelsey Hayes contributed nine kills and four aces.

Ashley Norris came away with 41 assists. Meredith Trail finished with 19 digs.

Sand Rock plays Westbrook Christian in the first of the Class 2A, Area 13 tournament on Thursday at 5 p.m. The tournament is hosted by West End of Walnut Grove.
