Mr. James Doyle Coleman, 80 of Currie, passed away Monday November 19, 2012 at Brunswick Cove Living Center. He was born in Bauxite Arkansas. He was a veteran having served honorably in the United States Air Force. He was regional manager of W. R. Grace fertilizer company. James loved to fish and work in his garden.

He is survived by his wife Norma Deal Coleman, a daughter Michelle Woodcock and husband Jody of Atkinson; five sons, Charles Embler and fiancé Christine of Wilmington, Scott Embler and wife Michelle of New Jersey, Sean Embler and wife Jessica of Kentucky, Terry Embler and wife Rachel of Raleigh, and James C. Coleman and wife Jennifer of Castle Hayne; 19 grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Coleman and wife Sue of Stanfield, NC; a sister Willene Beard and husband Melvin of AL, sister-in-law Marge Coleman of AL; mother and father-in-law Verna and Bob Mills of Statesville, NC; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Woodcock Cemetery in Atkinson. Reverend Steve Gasque will officiate. Burial will follow with military honors accorded by the United States Air Force. The family will receive friends Saturday at 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Harrell’s Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice 1406 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401.

Mr. Coleman was the son of the late Will T. Coleman and Gladys Weaks Coleman Simpson.

He was also prededed by a son, Michael Coleman, sisters, Louise Lane, Bobby Chestnut, Evelyn Peturn, and brother, Waldon Coleman.
