Cedar Bluff basketball teams sweep Jacksonville Christian

CEDAR BLUFF – Terrence Scales posted 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals while DeAngelo Hardy added 18 points (including three 3-pointers), nine boards, three assists and a pair of steals to lead the Cedar Bluff Tigers to a 61-38 basketball victory in their season opener Monday.

Rickey Pendley also connected on three 3-pointers and contributed a total of 13 points, three assists and a rebound for the Tigers (1-0). Levi Mintz finished with seven points, two rebounds, two steals and blocked a shot.

In girls action, the Lady Tigers improved to 3-1 with a 49-28 victory over the Thunder.

Katie McGinnis led the charge with 15 points, six steals, four assists and four rebounds. Audrianna Hargitt posted 14 points, five boards, three steals, an assist and a blocked shot. Hannah Leach tallied 12 points, five boards, two steals, a block and an assist. Lexi Moten finished with eight points, four boards, two steals and an assist.

Both Tiger teams will be in action Tuesday at home against Cherokee County beginning at 5 p.m.
